Larry Mazza was once a trigger man for Carmine “The Snake” Persico, ruler of the Colombo Crime Family until Persico’s death in 2019. In his autobiography, titled, “The Life,” Larry shares how he was recruited into the family by an infamous homicidal Colombo street boss named Greg “The Grim Reaper” Scarpa. Larry was front and center during the legendary “Colombo Wars” of the early 1990’s, which claimed the lives of as many as 2 dozen men. Larry has been featured as an expert on several true crime Mafia documentaries and mini series. He was also the personal consultant for director Marin Scorsese and actor Robert DeNiro on the set of Netflix’s $200-million dollar “The Irishman.” A movie adaption of Larry’s book is in the works.
